Trio of Transfers Commit to Warriors

Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan University (SWU) Head Women's Basketball Coach John Davis is pleased announce the signing of three transfer student-athletes in Steffy Cervantes, Erin Frazier and Maddison Neale.  The signing of these three student-athletes adds eight newcomers for the Warriors beginning the 26-27 academic year.

"The addition of these young women to our program makes us better on and off the court, which has been a consistent in this upcoming class," commented Davis.  "We will keep saying how important it is for our role as a women's basketball program is to challenge and grow our student-athletes from the inside-out.  All three have a firm belief in adding value to our Christ-centered mission, along building a championship expectation in all we do as a program."

S Cervantes signing - WBBCervantes, born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, started in 27 games last season for Phoenix College.  The 5-8 guard averaged 10 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last season, while shooting 39.3% from the field and 67% from the free throw line.  Cervantes also averaged 2.2 steals per game on the season, while earning ACCAC All-Conference.  She earned Dean's List honors also.

"I chose SWU since it felt like the best fit for me academically, athletically and spiritually," stated Cervantes.  "SWU will give me the opportunity to grow in my faith and strengthen my relationship with God while playing basketball.  I hope to use basketball as a ministry and an opportunity to positively impact others."

M Neale signing WBBNeale, a 6-0 guard, comes to the Warriors from Parker, Colo., and Tusculum University.  Neale graduated from Ponderosa High School and was two-time All-Conference selection, while leading the state in made three-pointers her senior year.  Neale currently holds four Guinness World Records, including most consecutive mid-court shots made (9 in November 2023), most consecutive behind-the-backboard shots made while alternating hands (10 in June, 2025) and most consecutive free throws made blindfolded (24 in June, 2025).  During the 25-26 season at Tusculum, Neale played in only 12 games due to an injury and averaged 5.7 points per game and shot 33.3% from 3-point range.  She grabbed 2.3 rebounds per game and shot 88% from free throw line, while also being selected as an Honor Student.

"I chose to go to Southern Wesleyan because I am passionate about using basketball as a platform to glorify God," commented Neale.  "Jesus Christ is the foundation of everything that I do and has carried me through many challenges throughout my life and my athletic career.  I have learned to trust God's plan and remain committed to growing in my relationship with Him, while pursuing excellence on-and-off the court."

E Frazier signing WBBFrazier is a 5-10 forward from Teaneck, N.J. and Teaneck High School.  She was a two-time State Sectional Champion, named a Jersey Sports All-Zone First Team and an All-State Honorable Mention at Teaneck.  The past two seasons, Frazier competed at Roberts Wesleyan and averaged 6.9 points, 6.23 rebounds, 1.58 assists, 1.34 steals and 1.2 blocks per game during that time.  She notched five double-doubles during the 25-26 campaign.

"I believe SWU will allow me to grow my love for the game of basketball by expanding my knowledge on and off the court, and contribute to being a servant leader," said Frazier on her signing with SWU.
