Central, SC – The Southern Wesleyan University (SWU) Women's Basketball program has added its second and third signees for the 2026-2027 class in high school teammates Kami Roach and Miley White of Walhalla High School. Both Roach and White have been key components in back-to-back 3A State Championships at Walhalla in 2025 and 2026. This tandem played under the direction of head coach Byron Wimphrie, a SWU alumni, men's basketball student-athlete and former assistant for the men's basketball program under his father, Charles Wimphrie.
"We are blessed as a program to add two individuals like Kami and Miley," commented Head Women's Basketball coach John Davis. "These two have been pillars of growth for the Walhalla program over the years in character, work ethic and leaders. Both of these young ladies will grow our Christ-centered culture and add value to our team on the court. Coach Wimphrie has guided them as people first and has been instrumental in their growth on and off the court," finished Davis.
Roach, a 5-4 guard, scored over 1,500 points in her career, helping lead the Razorbacks to back-to-back state titles, along with 3 Region Championships. Her senior season saw her average 14.5 points, 4.7 assists, 4.6 steals and 3.2 rebounds per game, which helped her earn 3A State Player of the Year honors. Roach was a 4-time All-State selection, 4-time All-Region, 4-time Mountain Lakes Player of the Year and 3-time Region Player of the Year. She was a North-South selection and Upstate All-Star also.
"I chose SWU because I think it will be a great environment for me to grow in my faith," commented Roach.
White, a 6-0 forward, averaged 11.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game during her senior season, was a consistent force for Walhalla in helping them to back-to-back state titles. White, of Westminster, S.C., was a 2-time All-Region performer and was named as an Upstate All Star. She was part of 2 Region Championships and is a high honor graduate also.
"I chose SWU because I like that it is a Christ-centered university," stated White.
