Greenville, SC – Conference Carolinas had 48 individuals from eight different institutions earn outdoor track & field all-region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Conference Carolinas had 22 men and 26 ladies who earned honors.
Southern Wesleyan was honored as sophomore Happy Lea was among those who received All-Region recognition. Lea received recognition in both the 400 meter hurdles and the javelin.
At the Conference Carolinas championship last month, the native of Woodruff, SC took eighth in the 400 meter hurdles with his time of 59.14. His best time came in the meet previous to the championship (Southside Power & Fitness Invitational on April 11) where he hit a NCAA Provisional mark as his time of 52.66 became the 13th fastest time in the country at the time.
Lea claimed fourth place in the javelin at the Conference Carolinas championship with his throw of 56.31 meters.
2026 USTFCCCA OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD ALL-REGION HONOREES
The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top three relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.
