How It Happened
Owen Kinnunen led the Warriors team in the tournament as he finished in a tie for 34th place. Kinnunen opened up the tournament with a 74. He then shot a 76 in the second round before battling back to shoot one under par in the final round with a 71. He finished with a total round score of 221.
Behind Kinnunen, Kieran Parkins opened up the Battle at the Lakes with a 74 in the first round. He went on to shoot even in the second round of the tournament with a 72. Parkins wrapped up the tournament with an 81. His total round score of 227 allowed him to finish in a tie for 57th.
Freshman Landon Smith was the next Warrior in the tournament as he finished in a tie for 77th with a total round score of 232. Smith opened up the tournament by shooting a 75. He then shot a 79 and a 78 in the next two rounds.
Taking 83rd in the tournament was Andrew Baxley. Baxley opened up the tournament with a 79. He then shot a 78 and 77 over the next two rounds of the Battle at the Lakes. His total round score of 234 put him in 83rd place.
The final Warrior in the tournament was Ben Sanders. Sanders shot an 81 in the first round before fighting back to shoot a 76 in the second round. In the final round of the tournament, Sanders shot a 78 to give him a total round score of 235 and allow him to finish in a tie for 84th.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Ahoskie, NC to take part in the Chowan Intercollegiate on April 6-7. They will then compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship on April 19-21.
