Track Results
60mh | In the preliminaries of the 60 meter hurdles, Happy Lea took fifth with a time of 8.25 to allow him to advance to the finals. Caleb Stephan took ninth in the preliminaries with his time of 8.50. In the finals, Lea took third place with a time of 8.30 to earn All-Conference third team honors.
400m | Caleb Stephan took tenth in the 400 meters with his time of 49.51.
800m | Dustyn Scruggs led the whole field in the men's 800 meters. His time of 1:54.17 allowed him to not only take first, but also break the meet record. He went on to earn All-Conference First team honors. Scruggs was followed in seventh place by Ethan Marchman with a time of 1:58.12. Nate Hill took ninth with a time of 1:58.92.
Mile | The Warriors were led by Drew Jones in the men's mile. Jones led the whole field with his time of 4:16.62 to put him in first place and earn All-Conference First team honors. His time also allowed him to best both the previous school and meet records for the event. Behind Jones, Grady Clark finished in fourth with a time of 4:19.08. Dustyn Scruggs finished in sixth with a time of 4:20.10.
3000m | Ronan O'Neill put up the second fastest time in the race as he took second place with his time of 8:36.80 to earn All-Conference Second team honors. Drew Jones was the next Warrior to finish in the 3000 meters as he took tenth with a time of 8:51.37.
5000m | Ronan O'Neill led the Warriors in the 5000 meters as his time of 15:13.69 allowed him to take fifth. O'Neill was closely followed by Kaden Reeder in sixth with a time of 15:14.34.
Distance Medley Relay | The Warriors team of Grady Clark, Nate Hill, Ethan Marchman and Drew Jones broke both the school and meet record on Sunday afternoon as they led the whole field with a time of 10:14.41 to take first place.
4x400 Meter Relay | Southern Wesleyan took fourth in the 4x400 meter relay team as the team of Caleb Stephan, Nate Hill, Dustyn Scruggs and Ethan Marchman finished in 3:20.17.
Field Results
High Jump | Junior Ethan Shoemaker led the whole field in the high jump as he cleared a height of 2.02 meters. Shoemaker's cleared height not only allowed him to take first, but broke the previous school and meet records. Isaiah Gamble was the next Warrior to finish in the event as he cleared a height of 1.80 meters to put him in 13th.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will open up the Outdoor Track & Field season at home as they host the Gotta Run Invite. They will then travel to Montreat, NC to compete in the Montreat College Open on March 20-21. The Warriors will travel to Atlanta, GA on March 27-28 to compete in the Thrills in the Hills.
