San Antonio, TX – Southern Wesleyan wrapped up the MSU Rattler Invitational on Tuesday afternoon in thirteenth with Landon Smith leading the team with a top twenty finish as an individual.

How It Happened
The Warriors were led by Landon Smith in their first tournament of the spring season. In the first round of the tournament, Smith shot two under par for a 70. Smith picked up an eagle on the eleventh hole in round two. He ended the round by shooting four over par for a 76. In the final round of the tournament, he shot a 75 to give him a total round score of 221. Smith finished in tie for 15th.
Andrew Baxley was the next Warrior to finish in the MSU Rattler Invitational. Baxley shot a 79 in the first round. In the second round, Baxley battled back to shoot a 72. He went on to wrap up the tournament with a 74 to give him a 225 total round score. Baxley finished the first tournament of the spring in a tie for 36th.
Finishing in 52nd was Owen Kinnunen. Kinnunen shot a 77 in the first round of the tournament. He then shot a 75 in the second round and a 76 in round three to give him a 228 total round score. Kinnunen ended up in 52nd.
Southern Wesleyan's next golfer to finish in the tournament was Ben Sanders. Sanders shot an 80 in both the first and second rounds. In the final round of the tournament, Sanders shot a 77 to give him a total round score of 237 to finish in a tie for 72nd.
Kieran Parkins wrapped up the field for the Warriors. Parkins shot an 88 in round one. He came back to shoot a 77 in round two before finishing the tournament with a third round score of 82. His total round score of 247 allowed him to finish in a tie for 85th.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Pawleys Island, SC on February 23-24 to take part in the Barton Beach Class. The Warriors will travel to Greenwood, SC on March 9-10 to compete in Lander's Greenwood Invitational. They will then compete in the Cherokee Invitational hosted by North Greenville on March 23-24.
