Winston-Salem, NC – Southern Wesleyan collected several top finishes at the Mondo College Invitational on Saturday.

Track Results

60m | In the 60 meters, Dominic Gonzalez led the team as his time of 7.47 allowed him to finish in 65^th.  He was followed by Eli Powell in 80^th with a time of 7.95.

60mh | Happy Lea took 11^th in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.50.  Right behind him, Caleb Stephan finished in 18^th with a time of 8.56.

200m | The Warriors were led by Jaden Warner as his time of 22.37 allowed him to finish in 13^th place. Dominic Gonzalez took 49^th with a time of 23.96.

400m (seeded) | Ethan Marchman finished in 16^th with a time of 51.46.  Right on his heels was Jaden Warner in 17^th with a time of 51.58.

400m (unseeded) | Happy Lea took 16^th with a time of 51.55.

800m | In the 800 meters, senior Dustyn Scruggs finished in third place as he finished in 1:54.56.  Scruggs were followed by Nate Hill who took 11^th with a time of 1:58.15.  Andre Kelly III finished in 30^th with a time of 2:05.07.

Mile | Drew Jones and Grady Clark finished in the top twenty runners in the mile.  Jones led the team in 16^th with a time of 4:21.47.  A fraction of a second behind him, Clark took 17^th with a time of 4:21.49.  Ronan O'Neill finished in 22^nd with a time of 4:23.62.

3000m | Grayson Gillepsie took 10^th in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:50.99.  Taking 58^th was sophomore Alex Howerton who finished in a time of 10:17.47.

4x400m Relay | The Warriors' team of Caleb Stephan, Nate Hill, Ethan Marchman and Dustyn Scruggs took fifth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:20.17.

4x800m Relay | Southern Wesleyan took second in the 4x800 meter relay as the team of Ethan Marchman, Grady Clark, Drew Jones and Ronan O'Neill finished in 8:10.96.

Field Results

High Jump | Junior Ethan Shoemaker finished in fifth place as he cleared 1.93 meters. He was followed by Isaiah Gamble in 19^th as he cleared 1.78 meters.

Shot Put | In the shot put, Mason Griffiths finished in 30^th after throwing a distance of 9.70 meters.

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Lynchburg, VA to take part in the Brant Tolsma Invitational hosted by Liberty University on January 30-31.  They will then travel back up to Winston-Salem, NC to compete in the ASICS Sound Invite.  The Warriors will take part in the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championship on February 22-23.
