Warriors Claim Top Spots in Gotta Run Invite

Central, SC – Top place finishes and personal bests lead Warriors in Gotta Run Invite over the weekend.

 

 

How It Happened

Track Results

100: Dominic Gonzalez took 13th with a time of 11.33.  Right one his heels was Aziah Gaskin who took 14th with a time of 11.36.  Bertin Manzi finished in 20th with a time of 11.93.

110mh: In the 110 meter hurdles, Happy Lea led the whole field as he took first with a time of 14.69.

200m: The Warriors were led in the 200 meters by Jaden Warner.  Warner took ninth with a time of 22.27.  Solomon Pitts was the next Warrior to finish as he took 17th with a time of 22.69.  Behind him was Josiah Pitts who took 19th with a time of 22.72.  Dominic Gonzalez took 24th with a time of 23.09 and Aziah Gaskin took 28th with a time of 23.47.  Finishing in 32nd was Bertin Manzi who had a time of 24.22.  Thomas Macagg wrapped up the field with a time 28.24.

400m: Nate Hill took fourth place in the 400 meters as he finished with a time of 48.53.  He was followed by Ethan Marchman who took sixth with a time of 49.52.  Taking 16th in the 400 meters was Josiah Pitts who finished with a time of 51.43.  Wrapping up the field in the 400 meters was Thomas Macagg who finished in 27th with a time of 59.96.

400mh: In the 400 meter hurdles, Elijah Powell took 10th with a time of 1:03.08.

800m:  The Warriors were led in the 800 meters by Grady Clark who took fifth with a time of 1:58.10.  Clark was closely followed by Ronan O'Neill and Kaden Reeder.  O'Neill took sixth with a time of 1:58.79 and Reeder finished in seventh with a time of 1:59.64.  Finishing in 20th was senior Jesse Sauve who finished with a time of 2:08.06.  John Locke and Thomas Macagg were the next two to finish.  Locke finished in 23rd with a time of 2:16.33 and Macagg took 24th with a time of 2:20.32.

1500m: Drew Jones led the whole field in the 1500 meters as his time of 3:58.97 allowed him to take first.  Jones was closely followed by Kaden Reeder who took 4th place with a time of 4:07.34.  Caleb Richardson and Jesse Sauve were the next two Warriors to finish.  Richardson took 7th with a time of 4:14.84 and Sauve took 10th with a time of 4:25.23.  John Locke was the next Warrior to finish in the 1500 meters as he took 14th with a time of 4:27.80.  Taking 17th was Andrew Davis who finished with a time of 4:26.76.  Thomas Macagg wrapped up the field with a time of 4:44.46 to take 19th.

3000m Steeple: Andrew Davis took fourth in the steeplechase with a time of 11:44.94.

5000m: Senior Josue Avendano finished in seventh place in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:37.15.  He was closely followed by fellow senior Thomas Macagg.  Macagg took eighth with a time of 17:39.92.

4x400 Meter Relay: The Warriors' team of Ethan Marchman, Solomon Pitts, Jaden Warner and Nate Hill took second with a time of 3:18.22.  The team of Ronan O'Neill, John Locke, Drew Jones and Grady Clark took seventh with a time of 3:36.44.  The team of Jesse Sauve, Andrew Davis, Thomas Macagg  and Josue Avendano finished in eighth with a time of 3:53.84.

 

Field Results

High Jump: In the high jump, Isaiah Gamble took seventh after clearing a height of 1.85 meters.  Happy Lea cleared 1.80 meters to take ninth.

Shot Put: Mason Griffiths finished in 11th in the shot put after a throw of 10.29m.  He was followed by Happy Lea in 14th with a throw of 8.81 meters.  Right behind him was Eli Powell who threw 8.79 meters.  Rusty Chappell wrapped up the field with a throw of 8.71 meters.

Triple Jump: Jose Verdejo took eighth in the triple jump with a jump of 11.73 meters.

Discus: Sophomore Mason Griffiths took ninth in the discus after a throw of 38.03 meters.

Long Jump: Freshman Jose Verdejo finished the long jump in 13th after he jumped a distance of 5.60 meters.

Javelin: Happy Lea led the Warriors in the javelin as he threw a distance of 53.92 meters.  He was followed by Mason Griffiths who's throw of 43.83 meters put him in sixth.  Rusty Chappell took 10th with a throw of 36.69 meters.

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will travel to Anderson, SC on April 4-5 to take part in the Electric City Invitational hosted by Anderson University.  They will then travel to Cleveland, TN to take on the Lee Fast Break.  The Warriors will take part in the Conference Carolinas Championship on April 25-26.
