Track Results
100m: Dominic Gonzalez led the Warriors in the men's 100 meters as he took 15th with a time of 11.41. Behind him, senior Bertin Manzi took 19th with a time of 11.94.
110mh: Happy Lea broke the school record in the 110 meter hurdles as he took first place with a time of 14.80.
200m: In the 200 meters, Josiah Pitts took 10th with a time of 22.89. Dominic Gonzalez finished in 14th with a time of 23.32. Wrapping up the field for the Warriors were Bertin Manzi and Eli Powell. Manzi took 23rd with a time of 24.31 and Powell finished in 25th with a time of 24.76.
400m: Solomon Pitts led the Warriors in the 400 meters as he took seventh with a time of 50.37. He was followed by his brother Josiah Pitts who's time of 51.31 allowed him to take 11th. Jaden Warner was the next Warrior to finish. Warner took 13th with a time of 52.15. Behind him, Aziah Gaskin finished in 15th with a time of 53.04. Andrew Davis wrapped up the field for the Warriors as he took 26th with a time of 59.13.
400mh: Happy Lea led the whole field in the 400 meter hurdles as his time of 55.16 allowed him to take first. He was followed by Eli Powell who took fourth with a time of 1:02.14.
800m: The Warriors put up several strong showings in the men's 800 meters. Dustyn Scruggs led the whole field as he took first place with a time of 1:56.13. Behind him, Drew Jones took third with a time of 1:57.40. Ronan O'Neill and Ethan Marchman were the next two Warriors to finish. O'Neill took seventh with a time of 2:00.35 and Marchman was right on his heels in eighth with a time of 2:00.77. Jesse Sauve took 16th with a time of 2:04.70. Behind him were John Locke and Andrew Davis. Locke finished in 24th with a time of 2:09.88 and Davis took 29th with a time of 2:13.07.
1500m: Ronan O'Neill broke the school record in the 1500 as he took fourth place with a time of 3:59.76. He was followed by Nate Hill who took 13th with a time of 4:18.00 and John Locke who took 18th with a time of 4:36.99. Thomas Macagg wrapped up the field in the 1500 meters as he took 22nd with a time of 4:48.18.
3000m Steeplechase: Drew Jones led the whole field in the steeplechase as he took first with a time of 9:58.85.
5000m: In the 5000m, Grady Clark took fifth with a time of 16:17.59. Clark was followed by Grayson Gillespie and Caleb Richardson. Gillespie took seventh with a time of 16:30.13 and Richardson finished in ninth with a time of 16:44.11.
10000m: Kaden Reeder claimed third place with a time of 33:44.38.
Mixed 4x400 Meter Relay: Southern Wesleyan competed for the first time ever in the mixed 4x400 meter relay on Saturday. The Warriors' team of Aziah Gaskin, Kyla Johnson, Solomon Pitts and TraVon Lay took third place with a time of 4:02.22.
4x400 Meter Relay: In the 4x400 meter relay, the Warriors' team of Ethan Marchman, Jaden Warner, Dustyn Scruggs and Nate Hill led the whole field with a time of 3:20.64 to take first place.
4x800 Meter Relay: The Warriors' team of Dustyn Scruggs, Grady Clark, Ethan Marchman and Nate Hill broke the school record as they took second place with a time of 7:54.66.
Field Results
Discus: In the discus, Mason Griffiths finished in ninth place after his throw of 40.21 meters.
High Jump: Wilontae Anderson led the whole field in the high jump after he cleared a height of 1.91 meters to take first. He was followed by Isaiah Gamble who took fourth with a height of 1.76m.
Javelin: Happy Lea led the Warriors in the javelin as he took fifth with a throw of 43.03 meters. Lea was followed by Rusty Chappell and Titus Thompson. Chappell finished in ninth with a throw of 35.75 meters and Thompson took 10th with a throw of 34.53 meters.
Long Jump: In the long jump, Jose Verdejo took eleventh with a jump of 5.48 meters.
Shot Put: Southern Wesleyan was led by Happy Lea in the shot put. Lea's throw of 9.84 meters allowed him to take 17th place. He was followed by Rusty Chappell who took 21st with a throw of 8.41 meters.
What's Next
Ronan O'Neill will compete in the NC State Relays on March 27. Southern Wesleyan will host their second home meet of the outdoor season on March 28-29 as they welcome several teams to Central, SC for the Gotta Run Invite. They will then travel to Anderson, SC to compete in the Electric City Invitational on April 4-5. The Warriors will wrap up the regular season on April 11-12 in Cleveland, TN at the Lee Fast Break.
