The Hawks countered in the bottom of the second inning as a single by Schroeder IV allowed two more runs to come in to score.

In the top of the third, the Warriors went on the offensive again.  With two outs, Gage Shaver hit a single through the right side.  Shaver advanced to third as Josh Long sent the ball down the right field line for a single.  With runners on the corners, Jack Dennison singled to left field to bring Shaver in to score.

However, Shorter extended their lead further in the bottom of the fourth inning as a sacrifice fly out by Jefferies and then a home run by Fincher brought two more runs in to score.

Jack Dennison led off the top of the sixth inning for the Warriors by sending the ball over the right field fence for his first home run of the 2025 campaign.  The Warriors were not done in the inning as with one out, Caide Linker singled and then advanced to second on a single by Harrison Garrett.  An error off a failed pick-off attempt allowed Linker to come in to score to put Southern Wesleyan right back within two runs of Shorter.

Southern Wesleyan tied the game up in the top of the seventh inning.  Marty Grisso led off the inning by reaching first on a walk.  Grisso advanced to second when Gage Shaver was hit by a pitch.  Josh Long laid down a bunt single to load up the bases and bring Jack Dennison up to the plate.  Dennison hit into a fielder's choice that took Long off the bases, but allowed Grisso to come in to score.  With two outs, Caide Linker reached first on an error, but Shaver was able to come in to score on the play to tie the game up 8-8.
