Southern Wesleyan Baseball Welcomes Jackson DeJohn as Assistant Baseball Coach

Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan University Head Baseball Coach Matthew Robinson has announced the hiring of Jackson DeJohn as the newest assistant coach for the Warriors' baseball program.

DeJohn joins Southern Wesleyan after serving on the coaching staff at St. Bonaventure University, where he played an integral role in player development, recruiting, scouting, and daily baseball operations. His experience at the NCAA Division I level brings a strong foundation of player development and competitive excellence to the Warriors' program.

"We're excited to welcome Jackson and his family to Southern Wesleyan," said Robinson. "From the beginning of the hiring process, it was clear that Jackson is someone who shares our vision for developing complete student-athletes both on and off the field. He has tremendous energy, a strong baseball mind, and an outstanding work ethic. His experience at the Division I level will make an immediate impact on our program."

During his time at St. Bonaventure, DeJohn assisted with player development, opponent scouting, practice planning, recruiting, and game preparation while helping the Bonnies compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference. His ability to build relationships with players aligns with the culture Southern Wesleyan is continuing to build.

"I am extremely honored and grateful to be joining the Southern Wesleyan Family. From the beginning, I could tell Southern Wesleyan is a place that genuinely cares about its students and student-athletes. I'm excited to get to work, learn from those around me, and work alongside with an outstanding coaching staff to continue building something special. I look forward to bringing energy and passion every day to help our players grow as athletes and men."

As part of the Warriors coaching staff, DeJohn will assist with all facets of the baseball program, including recruiting, player development, practice organization, game planning, and academic and personal mentorship of student-athletes.

The addition of DeJohn continues Coach Robinson's commitment to building a program centered on player development, competitive excellence, and a championship culture. His experience, enthusiasm, and passion for developing young men make him an outstanding addition to the Southern Wesleyan baseball family.

"We're building something special at Southern Wesleyan," Robinson added. "Hiring quality people is the foundation of that process, and Jackson embodies everything we're looking for in a coach. I know our players will benefit tremendously from his leadership and commitment to excellence."

Southern Wesleyan Baseball is preparing for the upcoming season with a renewed focus on player development, recruiting, and competing for conference championships while continuing to represent the university with excellence on the field, in the classroom, and throughout the community.
