Winston-Salem, NC – Southern Wesleyan finished in fifth place at the Conference Carolinas Championship after the two day meet. Ronan O'Neill was named the Conference Carolinas Track Athlete of the Year after his first place finishes in both the 3000m and 5000m.

How It Happened
Track Results
60m: In the preliminaries of the 60 meters, Aziah Gaskin took 27th with a time of 7.42.
200m: Jaden Warner finished in 25th in the 200 meters with a time of 23.23.
800m: Sophomore Nate Hill led the whole field in the 800 meters. Hill took first with a time of 1:56.47. A fraction of a second behind him, Dustyn Scruggs took second place with a time of 1:56.77. Ethan Marchman wrapped up the field for the Warriors as he took 10th with a time of 1:59.82.
Mile: Grady Clark and Drew Jones led the Warriors in the mile. Clark took 5th place with a time of 4:24.62 while Jones followed right on his heels in 6th with a time of 4:25.72.
3000m: Ronan O'Neill shattered the previous meet record in the 3000 meters as his time of 8:26.85 allowed him to take first place. He was followed by Drew Jones who took 13th with a time of 9:02.29.
5000m: In the 5000 meters, Ronan O'Neill led the whole field as he took 1st with a time of 14:42.81.
60mh: Happy Lea took fifth in the preliminaries of the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.35 to advance to the finals. In the finals, Lea took fourth with a time of 8.37.
Distance Medley Relay: Southern Wesleyan's team of Grady Clark, Ethan Marchman, Dustyn Scruggs and Drew Jones led the whole field in the DMR. Their time of 10:19.53 allowed them to take first place for the second consecutive year.
Field Results
High Jump: Wilontae Anderson took fifth as he cleared a height of 1.95 meters. Behind him, Isaiah Gamble took 13th with a height of 1.75 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will kick-off the Outdoor Track & Field season on March 1 as they host the Susan Rouse Invitational. They will then travel to Columbia, SC to take part in the Columbia International Invitational on March 7-8.
