Conference Carolinas Announces 2025-26 Women's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll

Greenville, SC – The Conference Carolinas Women's Indoor Track & Tield head coaches picked the University of Mount Olive to win their second straight conference championship in the 2026 preseason poll released on Tuesday.

The Trojans collected 196 points and 14-of-15 first-place votes (coaches can't vote for own team) to claim the top spot. Converse University followed, receiving the final first place vote and 180 points while North Greenville University came in third with 162 points and were followed by UNC Pembroke with 155. Belmont Abbey College rounded out the top five with 148 points.

Lees-McRae College earned 111 points to take the sixth spot and was followed by Shorter University (104) and Barton College (104), King University (95), Southern Wesleyan University (86), Emmanuel University (55), Young Harris College (52), Erskine College (47), Ferrum College (44) and Francis Marion University (36).

Southern Wesleyan looks to build off of last season where they finished in tenth place in the Conference Carolinas Championship.  They will bring back Merritt Smith, who led the Warriors to two top ten finishes in the mile and 3000 meters, along with Makayla Wilson, a sprinter who put up a strong showing at last year's Outdoor Track & Field championship.  The Warriors will also look to several new faces including Ella Harned and Elise Foster.

The 2025 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on February 22-23 at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
