Clemson, SC – Southern Wesleyan's Women's Track & Field team put up a strong showing at the Bob Pollock Invitational on Friday afternoon with senior Merritt Smith breaking her third school record of the Indoor Track & Field season.

60m | Cianna Laginestra and Shania Hatton each competed in the 60 meters for the Warriors. Laginestra led the team as her time of 8.45 put her in 62nd place. She was followed by Hatton in 63rd with a time of 8.47.
60mh | Freshman Ella Harned took 47th in the preliminaries of the 60 meter hurdles with her time of 10.97.
400m | In the 400 meters, Claire Walker finished in 51st with a time of 1:10.61.
Mile | Four Warriors competed in the Mile in the Bob Pollock Invitational on Friday. Ellie Adams led the Warriors as her time of 5:38.17 put her in 42nd place. She was closely followed by Freda Ruiz in 43rd with a time of 5:39.49. Anna Maddalena and Kristi Gallagher wrapped up the field for the Warriors. Maddalena finished in 44th with a time of 5:53.92 and Gallagher took 45th with a time of 6:02.76.
5000m | Merritt Smith led the whole field in the women's 5000 meter race on Friday evening. Smith took first place with a time of 18:34.31 to break the school record. Behind her, freshman Elise Foster finished in third place with a time of 19:28.66.
Distance Medley Relay | The Warriors team of Elise Foster, Claire Walker, Freda Ruiz and Merritt Smith took sixth in the DMR with a time of 13:38.05.
Field Results
Weight Throw | Alexandria Luther took 21st in the weight throw as she threw a distance of 11.15 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will compete in the ASICS Sound Invite in Winston-Salem, NC on February 14. They will then return to Winston-Salem, NC on February 22-23 to compete in the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championship.
