Columbia, SC – Southern Wesleyan had several top ten finishes in the Gamecock Opener on Saturday afternoon.

60m | In the 60 meter dash preliminaries, senior Makayla Wilson led the Warriors as she took 14th with a time of 7.89 to qualify for the semi-finals. She was followed by Cianna Laginestra who took 33rd with a time of 8.43. Wilson went on to take 16th in the semi-finals with a time of 8.01.
60mh | Ella Harned finished in 21st in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 11.00.
200m | Cianna Laginestra finished in 31st with a time of 29.01.
600m | Freshman Ella Harned took ninth in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:54.66.
1000m | In her first competition in the Warrior blue, freshman Ellie Adams finished in fourth place in the 1000 meters with a time of 3:29.23.
Mile | Freda Ruiz led the Warriors in the mile as she finished in fourth place with a time of 5:42.18. Behind her, Anna Maddalena took sixth with a time of 5:58.01.
Field Results
High Jump | In the high jump, Ella Harned took sixth after she cleared a height of 1.50 meters.
Weight Throw | Alexandria Luther finished in 12th in the weight throw after she threw a distance of 10.70 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel up to Winston-Salem, NC on January 17 to compete in the JDL College Team Challenge. They will then compete in Lynchburg, VA on January 30-31 in Liberty's Brant Tolsma Invitational. The Warriors will return to the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem on February 14.
