Winston-Salem, NC – Southern Wesleyan took top places and the 4x800 meter relay team broke the school record at the Mondo College Invite on Saturday.

Track Events
60m (Qualifying): In the preliminaries of the men's 60 meters, sophomore Dominic Gonzalez took 33rd with a time of 7.55.
60mh: Freshman Happy Lea took fifth in the preliminaries of the 60 meter hurdles on Saturday with a time of 8.54. His time allowed him to advance to the finals where he took fourth with a time of 8.36.
200m: Aziah Gaskin, Dominic Gonzalez and Happy Lea competed in the 200 meters for Southern Wesleyan. Gaskin led the way as his time of 24.26 allowed him to take 33rd. Right behind him, Gonzalez finished in 34th with a time of 24.31. Lea wrapped up the field as he took 41st with a time of 24.81.
400m: In the men's 400 meters, Eli Powell finished in 28th with a time of 57.13.
800m: Dustyn Scruggs led the whole field in the 800 meters as his time of 2:00.00 allowed him to take first place.
Mile: In the mile, junior Drew Jones led the Warriors as he took second place with a time of 4:26.03. He was followed by Kaden Reeder and Thomas Macagg. Reeder took 14th with a time of 4:40.76 and Macagg took 44th with a time of 5:03.44.
3000m: Ronan O'Neill took third with a time of 8:49.46. O'Neill was followed closely by Kaden Reeder. Reeder took ninth with a time of 9:14.01. Caleb Richardson was the next Warrior to finish as he took 28th with a time of 9:33.16. Seconds behind Richardson, Grayson Gillespie took 29th with a time of 9:36.19. Jesse Sauve finished in 40th with a time of 10:01.43.
4x400 Meter Relay: In the 4x400 meter relay, the Warriors' team of Aziah Gaskin, Dustyn Scruggs, Eli Powell and Nate Hill finished in seventh place with a time of 3:37.64.
4x800 Meter Relay: Southern Wesleyan broke the school record in the men's 4x800 meter relay on Saturday as the team of Dustyn Scruggs, Drew Jones, Grady Clark and Nate Hill took second place after crossing the finish line with a time of 8:01.72.
Field Events
Shot Put: Sophomore Mason Griffiths led the Warriors in the shot put on Saturday. The Georgia native took 25th place as he threw a distance of 10.72 meters. He was followed by Titus Thompson who took 36th with a time 8.74 meters.
High Jump: In the high jump, Wilontae Anderson took eighth as he cleared a height of 1.82 meters. He was followed by Isaiah Gamble who took 13th with a cleared height of 1.77 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Lynchburg, VA on January 25-26 as they compete in Liberty University's Brant Tolsma Invitational. They will then go back to Winston-Salem, NC on February 7-8 to compete in the Camel City Splits.
