Winston-Salem, NC – Southern Wesleyan had several top performances at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-off on Saturday. In the first meet of the season, Charles McCord broke the school record in the triple jump by a meter while also claiming first place in the event.

Track Events
60m: Dominic Gonzalez led the Warriors in the 60m as he finished with a time of 7.54 to take 33rd.
400m Prelims One: In the first of the 400 meters preliminaries, Jaden Warner claimed 16th place with a time of 53.32.
400m Prelims Two: Happy Lea led the Warriors in the second 400 meters preliminaries. Lea finished in 18th with a time of 54.02.
600m: Junior Ethan Marchman led the Warriors in the 600 meters. Marchman's time of 1:24.24 allowed him to take fourth place. He was closely followed by Dustyn Scruggs. Scruggs took fifth with a time of 1:24.32. Aziah Gaskin took 13th with a time of 1:29.03 and Eli Powell hit a PR to take 25th with a time of 1:35.20.
Mile: Grady Clark was the first Warrior to finish in the mile. Clark took 18th with a time of 4:38.61. Nate Hill claimed 31st as he finished with a time of 4:50.47.
3000m: In the 3000 meters, Kaden Reeder took 27th with a time of 9:18.18. Caleb Richardson and Grayson Gillespie were the next two Warriors to finish. Richardson took 37th with a time of 9:45.00 and Gillespie took 40th with a time of 9:56.09.
4x400 Meter Relay: Southern Wesleyan's team of Ethan Marchman, Eli Powell, Grady Clark, and Dustyn Scruggs took seventh with a time of 3:35.24.
Field Events
Long Jump: Charles McCord led the whole field in the long jump as he cleared a distance of 7.00 meters to take first place.
Shot Put: In the shot put, Titus Thompson took 38th with a throw of 7.96 meters.
Triple Jump: Junior Charles McCord not only led the whole field, but hit a NCAA National Qualifier in the triple jump on Saturday. McCord cleared a distance of 15.06 meters to take first and set a new school record.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will break for the Holiday season before returning to the court on January 10-11 as they compete in Nashville, TN at the Commodore Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt. They will then travel to Winston-Salem, NC to take part in the Mondo College Invitational.
