Young Harris, GA – Southern Wesleyan took fifth place at the YHC Cross Country Invitational on Friday evening.
How It Happened
Merritt Smith led the Warriors in the first race of the season. Smith took 14
th at the YHC Cross Country Opener as she finished with a time of 16:25.4. Ten seconds behind her, senior
Abbey Frock took 20
th with a time of 16:35.2. Freshman
Divinity Ervin took 38
th in her collegiate debut as she finished with a time of 17:19.0.
Ervin was followed by
Emma Dixon in 45
th with a time of 17:33.4.
Ava LaBrant took 48
th with a time of 17.51.1. Coming in 50
th place,
Evelyn Gordon finished the race with a time of 17:54.5. She was followed by junior
Janey Dixon who took 53
rd with a time of 18:26.7.
Finishing in 61
st place,
Haley Morgan posted a time of 19:05.1.
Gisselle Lopez wrapped up the field for the Warriors as she finished in65th place with a time of 19:53.6.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel down the road to Greenville, SC on September 16 as they take part in the Furman Invitational hosted by Furman University. They will then travel to Tallahassee, FL to take part in Florida State's FSU Invite on September 29. The Warriors will wrap up the regular season in Charlotte, NC as they take part in the Royal Challenge hosted by Queens University.
