How It Happened
The Warriors were led by Merritt Smith in the Bulldog Stampede on Saturday morning. Smith finished in 30th in the race with a time of 23:59.79. Elise Foster was the next Warrior to finish as she took 62nd place with a time of 25:50.68. Kristi Gallagher and Freda Ruiz were the next two Warriors to finish. Gallagher took 69th with a time of 26:46.69 and Ruiz finished in 72nd with a time of 27:17.71.
Wrapping up the top five runners for the Warriors was freshman Anna Maddalena. Maddalena finished in 79th with a time of 28:01.31. Finishing in 84th place was Ella Harned with a time of 28:39.76. Harned was followed by Elena Juarez who took 92nd place with a time of 29:34.64.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Huntsville, AL on September 26 to take part in the Twilight at John Hunt. They will remain on the road on October 10 to travel up to Charlotte, NC to race in the Royals XC Challenge.
