Kernersville, NC – The Warriors finished in sixth place at the Conference Carolinas Championship on Friday afternoon. Merritt Smith and Elise Foster each earned All-Conference finishes for the Warriors.

How It Happened
Senior Merritt Smith led the Warriors in the Conference Carolinas Championship as her time of 23:28.02 allowed her to claim sixth place. Smith not only earned All-Conference First Team honors, but also broke the school record in the 6K. Elise Foster was the next Warrior to cross the finish line as her time of 24:26.21 allowed her to take 21st. Foster went on to earn All-Conference Third Team recognition.
Freda Ruiz was the next Warrior to finish as her time of 26:26.31 allowed her to finish in 43rd place. Right behind her, Anna Maddalena took 51st with a time of 26:48.31. Senior Kristi Gallagher finished in 61st place as she crossed the finish line in 27:41.91.
She was followed by Ella Harned and Elena Juarez. Harned took 79th with a time of 29:06.69 while Juarez took 85th with a time of 29:52.03. Kylie Gallagher crossed the finish line in 30:29.09 to put her in 90th place. She was closely followed by fellow freshman Claire Walker in 93rd with a time of 30:37.57.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will compete in the NCAA Regional in Charlotte, NC on November 8. If they qualify, they will then run at the NCAA National Championship on November 22.
