Box Score Tigerville, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the North Greenville Crusaders in a 65-51 final score on Wednesday evening.
The Warriors shot 32.2% from the field and went 64.3% at the free throw line in the loss to the Crusaders. Lisana Burnett led the Warriors with 11 points. She was followed by Denisha Hall with nine points. Hall went on to record four of the nine assists. Southern Wesleyan had 27 rebounds with Lisana Burnett recording 11 of the rebounds to give her a double-double. Burnett led the Warriors with three of the four steals during the game.

How It Happened
North Greenville charged out of the gate, taking a 7-0 lead before Denisha Hall sunk a jump shot and a layup by Lisana Burnett put the Warriors behind the Crusaders 7-4. Southern Wesleyan continued to fight, cutting North Greenville's lead to 6-7 on free throws by Hall. The Warriors tied it up on a 3-pointer by Caroline Reese and then took the lead on a second 3-pointer Reese to make the score 14-10.
The Warriors kept the Crusaders off the board until free throws by Hughes cut Southern Wesleyan's lead to 14-12. However, the Warriors regained their four point advantage on a layup by Brooke Henricks. North Greenville countered, gaining four points off baskets by Hughes and Montgomery to make the score 17-20. Denisha Hall passed the ball up to Aneysa Williams who put the ball up right beyond the three point line to give the Warriors a 23-17 point lead. The Crusaders continued to challenge the Warriors every move, but a layup by Burnett allowed the Warriors to maintain the lead. Despite a last second basket by North Greenville, Southern Wesleyan led at halftime 27-26.
North Greenville attacked first on a 3-point shot by Muhammed, but a layup by Brooke Henricks allowed the Warriors to tie the game 29-29. The Crusaders regained the lead on a layup by Stoddard. Southern Wesleyan would not be discouraged as Denisha Hall and Halee Morrison put up jump shots to put the Warriors down 38-35. Hall passed the ball up to Emily Waters who laid it up to allow Southern Wesleyan to cut North Greenville's lead to 43-40.
Southern Wesleyan took the first point of the fourth quarter, but a layup by Shelton put North Greenville ahead 58-44. Lisana Burnett allowed the Warriors to cut the Crusader lead to fourteen. The Warriors kept fighting with a layup by Denisha Hall, but Okeke allowed the Crusaders to maintain the lead. North Greenville went on to win the game 65-51.
