Gaffney, SC – Southern Wesleyan dropped the game against the Limestone Saints in a 94-57 final score on Saturday.

The Warriors shot 37.3% from the field in the loss to the Saints.  Emily Waters led the Warriors with 12 points, she was followed by Denisha Hall with 11 and Halee Morrison with nine.  Six Warriors recorded assists during the game.

The Warriors recorded 38 rebounds.  Emily Waters led the team with 10, giving her a double-double during the game.  Waters was followed by Lisana Burnett with nine rebounds.  Both Waters and Burnett had two steals apiece.  Southern Wesleyan had three blocks during the game.

How It Happened

Limestone scored first as Quin Byrd made a layup, the Warriors countered with a jump shot by Denisha Hall to tie the game at two apiece.  The Warriors kept the game close as Brooke Henricks made a 3-pointer and Aneysa Williams put up a layup to make the score 8-8.  Back-to-back 3-point shots allowed the Saints to pull ahead of the Warriors.  Back-to-back layups by Tanayja Williams put Southern Wesleyan within seven points of Limestone.

A jump shot by Alexis Armstrong gave Limestone a 31-14 point advantage over the Warriors to kick-off the second quarter.  Southern Wesleyan countered with back-to-back layups by Tanayja Williams and Denisha Hall to put them down 18-33.  Emily Waters made back-to-back jump shots to keep the Warriors within 15 points of the Saints.  Despite a 3-point shot by Aneysa Williams, Southern Wesleyan trailed Limestone 48-30 at halftime.

Limestone struck first in the third quarter, but Southern Wesleyan kept it close with a jump shot by Emily Waters and free throw by Lisana Burnett.  The Saints continued to push ahead with 3-pointers by Reagan McCray and Quin Byrd.  A layup by Water, and a jump shot by Denisha Hall put Southern Wesleyan down twenty points to Limestone.

The Saints continued to push ahead a 3-pointer by Jayla Morrow.  They continued to push their lead further on 3-pointers by Laiken Wade and Quin Byrd.  Layups by Halee Morrison and Lisana Burnett put Southern Wesleyan down 52-84.  Despite free throws by Ramsay Green and Morrison, Southern Wesleyan dropped the game to Limestone in a 94-57 final score.

What's Next

The Warriors will return to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium on December 18 as they host the Lees-McRae Bobcats at 5:30.  They will travel to St. Leo, Florida as they take part in the St. Leo Classic on December 20-21.
