Warriors Succeed in Day One of Susan Rouse Invite

Central, S.C. – Warriors succeed in day one of the Susan Rouse Invitational on April 7.

 

How It Happened

Men's Results:

Senior Grayson Lorenz and freshman Johnny Bogert competed in day one of the Decathlon.  In the Men's 100 Meters, Bogert took third with a time of 11.46 and Lorenz took fifth with a time of 12.13.  Next was the Men's Long Jump where Bogert took third with a distance of 5.96m and Lorenz took fifth with 5.60m.  Lorenz took first in the shot put with a distance of 11.64m and Bogert finished in fifth with distance of 7.25.  In the High Jump portion of the Decathlon, Lorenz took second with height of 1.70m and Bogert took third with 1.67m.  During the 400 Meters, Lorenz took third and Bogert took fourth with times of 54.79 and 55.62.  The Decathlon will continue on April 8.

In the Men's Hammer Throw, Southern Wesleyan's Jake Wicks took second place with a distance of 40.83m.  Fellow Warriors took third and fourth places.  Keauntai Robinson took third with a distance of 40.44m and Craig Nowinski took fourth with a distance of 40.07m.  Samuel Sparks took sixth place with a distance of 29.11m.  In the Men's Javelin, Robbie Bryant took second place with a distance of 54.07m and Jake Wicks took eighth place with a distance of 28.69m.

 

Women's Results:

In the Women's Pole Vault, Kayla Eison took fourth place with a height of 2.90m and Jessica Maggio took fifth place with a height of 2.75m.  Southern Wesleyan took seventh in the Women's Hammer Throw when Emma Akridge threw a distance of 31.38m.  Paris West took thirteenth with 27.80m.  Olivia Bush took first place in the Women's Javelin with a distance of 38.41m while fellow Warrior Kristen Smith took second place with a distance of 33.45m.

 

What's Next

The Warriors will continue in the Susan Rouse Invite on April 8.
