Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan put up a strong showing and had several top performances in the Gotta Run Invite over the weekend.

Track Results
100m: In the 100 meters, Makayla Wilson took first with a time of 12.19. Wilson was followed by Cianna Laginestra who took seventh with a time of 12.74. Senior Kyla Johnson took 14th with a time of 13.38.
100mh: TraVon Lay led the whole field in the 100 meter hurdles as she claimed first place with a time of 14.66.
200m: The Warriors were led by Cianna Laginestra in the 200 meters as she took 16th with a time of 27.04.
400m: Southern Wesleyan was led by Ava LaBrant in the 400 meters as the senior took seventh with a time of 1:04.00.
800m: Kristi Gallagher took third with a time of 2:30.18. Gallagher was followed by Janey Dixon who took 7th with a time of 2:45.22. Nicole Feagan claimed 11th with a time of 3:17.60.
1500m: In the 1500 meters, Kristi Gallagher took seventh with a time of 5:14.89. Behind Gallagher, Macey Morgan took 8th with a time of 5:17.32. Freda Ruiz and Nicole Feagan were the next two to finish. Ruiz took 14th place with a time of 5:42.86 and Feagan took 19th with a time of 6:26.73.
5000m: Merritt Smith led the Warriors in the 5000 meters after her time of 19:27.37 allowed her to take second place.
4x100 Meter Relay: Southern Wesleyan's team of Kyla Johnson, Makayla Wilson, Cianna Laginestra and TraVon Lay took second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 48.72.
Field Results
High Jump: Elena Juarez took 13th after clearing a height of 1.40m.
Shot Put: In the shot put, Alexandria Luther took 11th with a throw of 9.92m.
Discus: Southern Wesleyan was led by Layla-Grey Bennett who took ninth after throwing a distance of 32.00m. Alexandria Luther took 13th with a throw of 30.03 meters.
Javelin: Layla-Grey Bennett and Alexandria Luther led the Warriors in the javelin. Bennett took third after her throw of 32.96 meters and Luther finished in fourth after her throw of 32.70 meters.
Pole Vault: Senior Ava LaBrant took fifth in the pole vault after clearing a height of 3.05 meters.
Long Jump: In the long jump, Makayla Wilson took fifth with a jump of 5.26 meters. Behind her, Elena Juarez took 14th with a jump of 4.10 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Anderson, SC on April 4-5 to take part in the Electric City Invitational hosted by Anderson University. They will then travel to Cleveland, TN to take on the Lee Fast Break. The Warriors will take part in the Conference Carolinas Championship on April 25-26.
