Box Score Warriors fall to Limestone in Conference Carolinas Semifinals.
The Southern Wesleyan University Warriors came into their first appearance in Conference Carolinas post season ready to show the conference who the Warriors were. They started off strong with a shot on goal by Sebastian Castro, followed shortly by a shots on the goals by Christian Taylor and Michel Herszenhaut. However, they efforts were thwarted by a goal by Limestone's Louis Robles giving the Saints a 1-0 lead at half-time.
The goal in the first half was only the first for the Saints, as they came back to score two more goals in the second half of the game. The Warriors fought to gain ground, but were unable to get past the defense, falling to the Saints of Limestone 3-0.
"Credit to Limestone," said Head Men's Soccer Coach Garrett Bireline. "They are a quality program with good talent. It's a disappointing end to our conference play but I'm proud of the guys resilience to get this far. We will continue to grow and adapt."
Miguel Uribe contributed with seven saves in the loss. The Warriors took four shots, two of which were shots on goal.
