How It Happened

The Warriors went on the offensive early on in the game.  Juan Daniel Rosales took a shot on the net, but Sean Green was able to knock the ball away.  Southern Wesleyan continued to press as five minutes into the half, Matias Garnier sent the ball up the field.  John Gonzalez collected the ball and drove it into the back of the net to score his first collegiate goal to give the Warriors a 1-0 goal lead.  The Warriors continued to attack the net as Dillon Bennett put up a shot, but the Bobcats' back line knocked the ball away from the goal.  Lees-McRae fought on as Conor Hart passed the ball over to Conor O'Gorman who scored to allow the Bobcats to tie the game up at one.  Southern Wesleyan looked to regain the lead as Anthony Martin drove to the net, but his shot just barely missed the bottom corner of the net.

Lees-McRae looked to gain the lead as O'Gorman took another shot on the net, but it sailed wide.  The Warriors countered as Luis Lezama put up a shot, but his shot also sailed to the left.  Luke Bramblett knocked an attack by Jonas Bartelt away to keep the game tied up.  Emilio Cordero drove the ball past the Bobcats defense and sent a shot toward the net. His shot just barely hit off the woodwork and back into the field of play to keep the Warriors from gaining the lead.  Southern Wesleyan wouldn't back down as Gabriel Melendez passed the ball up to John Gonzalez.  Once again Gonzalez broke away and drove the ball toward the net to put the Warriors back on top 2-1 to win the game.
