Warriors Downed in Overtime by Saints

Box Score

A goal during overtime leads to a loss for the Southern Wesleyan Warriors.

The war cries were strong as the Warriors battled against the Saints on a very windy evening.  The Warriors scored first with a goal by Michel Herszenhaut, but the Saints came back strong scoring back-to-back goals to take the lead.

The Saints held the Warriors scoreless until Fernando Posada put the ball in the net to tie the game in the second half.  With the game tied, the Warriors and Saints were forced into sudden death.  The Saints' Gui Machado ended the match with a goal giving the Saints their ninth season victory.

Miguel Uribe compiled 6 saves in the loss.  The Limestone win gives the Saints a 9-1 season record and makes them 6-0 in Conference play.  The Warriors become 6-5 for the season and 2-3 in the Conference.

The next Warrior home game is Wednesday, October 12 against Erskine.  The Warriors will then travel to Emmanuel on October 15 and King on October 19 before returning home on October 22 to take on the North Greenville Crusaders for Homecoming weekend at Southern Wesleyan University.
