Box Score KISSIMMEE, Fla.‑ Southern Wesleyan will advance to the 2015 NCCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship game after a 2-0 victory over No. 4 seed Southwestern Christian.
The Warriors (14-7-2) got on the board at the 33:58 mark with a goal by Marcelo Vargas off a pass from Michel Herszenhout. They attempted six shots with two being on goal. The Eagles (17-9) attempted five shots with one being on goal.
Southern Wesleyan stretched their lead to 2-0 at the 62:10 mark as Herszenhout scored in the box off a pass from Sam Rowden. Southwestern Christian only attempted three shots in the second half with none of them being on goal.
SWU's Ruben Rodriguez had one save and SWC's Chris Muter also had one save.
"Wow what a game," said Warriors head coach Camilo Rodriguez, "We played one of the best games we have played all year. This is a great time to peak and we seem to be playing to the best of our abilities right now. I couldn't be more proud of this team."
The Warriors will play against No. 2 seed Bethel College Saturday at 5:45 pm. They are attempting to win their second NCCAA National Championship in program history, after winning their first one in 2013.
