Box Score MOBILE, Ala. - Though the The Southern Wesleyan men's soccer team held the nation's top offense to just one goal, the Warriors fell just short against a talented Palm Beach Atlantic team on Saturday afternoon in the team's second and final game of the Classic on the Hill hosted by Spring Hill College. The Warriors are now 10-6-2 on the season after finishing 1-1 in the tournament.
"It was a great game us against a very good Palm Beach Atlantic team," said head coach Camilo Rodriguez. "It was the perfect game to get us ready for the NCCAA regional tournament. I'm proud of the heart and the intensity we showed against a top five team."
The teams were scoreless in the first half of play. In the third minute of the second half the Sailfish scored to take the lead. Oscar Farias scored after collecting the ball at the top of the box and beat a Warrior defender on the left side.
Palm Beach Atlantic outshot Southern Wesleyan 29-4 and had an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. Ruben Rodriguez, the goalkeeper for the Warriors, recorded 10 saves in the loss.
