Box Score DUE WEST, S.C. - The Southern Wesleyan women's soccer team played 110 scoreless minutes at Erskine on Thursday night. With the draw, the Warriors move to 2-12-1 in the season and 0-9-1 in conference play and Erskine moves to 1-14-1 overall and 0-8-1 in Conference Carolinas.
As indicated by the score, the game was close throughout. The Warriors had a slight shot advantage in shots, 9-8, and corners, 7-5. Grace Taylor took five shots for Southern Wesleyan and Maggie McMenimen added two. Amber Goss and Brittany Woodhouse had one shot apiece.
Courtney McNeill recorded five saves in goal for Southern Wesleyan and the Erskine goalkeeper, Ashton Burgess, tallied six. The game was physical as the Warriors were called for six fouls while Erskine had 19.
The Warriors have a quick turnaround, returning to the field Saturday, Oct. 31 against Pfeiffer. Saturday is homecoming for Southern Wesleyan and will also be senior day for the Warrior soccer programs. Kickoff of the women's game is set for 1 p.m. with the men's game following around 3 p.m. The games will take place at Southern Wesleyan's new track and soccer complex.
