Young Harris, GA – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Young Harris Mountain Lions after an hour and a half rain delay on Saturday afternoon in a 4-0 final score.
The Warriors totaled seven shots in the loss to the Mountain Lions. Breena Duffy led the team with two shots. The other shots came from Karina Pashkovets, Ashley Caballero, Brianna Gonzalez, Ella Beasley and Peyton Hughes. Ester Carabano played all ninety minutes in the goal and had five saves to her name.

How It Happens
The Mountain Lions went on the attack early as they went on several attacks, but Ester Carabano and the Warriors' backline were able to prevent each of Young Harris' attacks. Ashley Caballero put up a shot, but it just missed the net. Alessandra Brown looked to give Young Harris the lead, but Ella Beasley was there to block the ball from finding the net. The Mountain Lions would not relent as a corner kick led to Young Harris' Mariah Nwaigwe scoring and giving them the lead. Breena Duffy and Brianna Gonzalez put up several more shots, but they trailed 1-0 at halftime.
Betsy Bu went on the attack early for Young Harris, but Ester Carabano collected the attack to prevent the Mountain Lions from extending on their lead. The Warriors challenged as Karina Pashkovets put up a shot off a corner kick, but it sailed just left of the net. Young Harris' attacks paid off as Faith Niebrugge collected a pass from Bu to score the Mountain Lions second goal of the afternoon. Despite shots by Breena Duffy and Peyton Hughes, the Mountain Lions were able to score twice more in the game to claim a 4-0 goal victory over the Warriors.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return home on September 9 to host the Bob Jones Bruins at 5pm. They will then welcome the Barton Bulldogs to Central, SC on September 12. The Warriors will hit the road to Due West, SC to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet on September 16.
