MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan men's soccer suffered their second loss of the season, 4-0 against Pfeiffer in their Conference Carolinas opener on Saturday afternoon.
All four goals by the Falcons came in the second half, the first two within seven minutes and the last two within five minutes of each other. Nathan Regis netted two goals and an assist for Pfeiffer (2-3, 1-1 CC).
The Warriors (4-2, 0-1 CC) were out-shot in the match 22-12 as SWU keeper Ruben Rodriguez was under pressure all night, making six saves. Pfeiffer took 11 shots in each half as the Warriors managed just four shots in the first half and eight more in the second. Alejandro Sanchez took four shots for the Warriors, putting two on target.
The four goal margin was the largest against the Warriors in nearly a year, as they lost 6-0 to Belhaven last year on Sept. 21. After that point last year the Warriors reeled off a 13-3-1 mark en route to the NCCAA National Championship.
The Warriors will return to Childs Field on Wednesday as they host Lees-McRae in Conference Carolinas action at approximately 7 p.m.
