Offense explodes for five as Warriors top Toccoa Falls

Box Score

TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. – Southern Wesleyan men's soccer recorded their fourth straight win on Wednesday, defeating Toccoa Falls 5-0 in a non-conference affair.

The Warriors (8-3) match a season-high with their four-game streak and will put that streak on the line on Saturday against No. 12 Limestone.

Bruno Liozzi was one of four players to find the back of the net on Wednesday, scoring twice to move into a tie for the team-lead with five goals on the season.  Christian Taylor scored for the first time in his career as Richie Barbetty found the back of the net for the first time this season.  Noel Fischer recorded his fourth goal of the year and second in three games.

The Warriors overpowered the Screaming Eagles with 21 shots, 11 on target, to just two shots for TFC (3-10). The five-goal barrage is the most for the Warriors since scoring six in back-to-back contests on Sept. 6 and 10.

SWU is back in action and back in conference play on Saturday as No. 12 Limestone rolls into Central for a 5 p.m. kickoff.  The Saints are 9-1 overall and 5-0 in Conference Carolinas after defeating Lees-McRae 2-1 on Wednesday night.  Limestone has been ranked as high as No. 3 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Top-25 this year.
