No. 11 Rams Out Man Warriors

Box Score

CENTRAL, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan held strong for the first 45 minutes but allowed three short-handed goals in the second half to fall to the 11th-ranked Mobile Rams.

SWU's Bruno Liozzi was issued a straight red card with just 11 seconds left in the first half after a hard tackle in the Warriors attacking third.  Just six minutes into playing a man down the Warriors (4-4-1, 1-3-0 SSAC) allowed a goal. Mobile's (6-3-0, 3-1-0 SSAC) Eoin Dolan picked up a deflected pass from Pierre Mangold inside the 18 and Ruben Rodriguez had no chance to stop it.

Dolan added another goal in the 65th on a header from a cross from Gunna Steindorsson.  Moses Muhubao tallied the final goal in the 78th minute.

Four cards were issued on the night that saw 27 combined fouls called.  The game clearly changed on the red card as neither team really controlled the first half despite the 8-2 shot favor to Mobile as only one of those shots was on target, both of SWU's shots were on frame.

Rodriguez made one save in goal for the Warriors and Xavier Audergon made four stops for the Rams.

The Warriors head to Tennessee next week to take on Martin Methodist and Bethel (Tenn.), two SSAC newcomers.
