Huntsville, AL – Southern Wesleyan took first place as a team in the Twilight at John Hunt on Friday evening as they had five ladies finish in the top ten. Sierra Connor broke the school record in the 5K as she led the whole field in the race.

How It Happened
Freshman Sierra Connor led the whole field in the Twilight at John Hunt. Connor broke the school record in the 5K as she finished in 18:22.2 to claim first place. Right behind Connor, Ellie Adams took second place as she finished in 18:38.0. The Warriors next lady to finish was freshman Lexie Shenton. Shenton took sixth place as she finished in 19:27.4. Elise Foster and Freda Ruiz wrapped up the top five runners for the Warriors. Foster finished in seventh place with a time of 19:30.4 and Ruiz took 10th with a time of 19:50.5.
Finishing in 20th was junior Lexie Ransom. Ransom finished the 5K in 20:25.7. Seconds behind her, Anna Maddalena took 23rd with a time of 20:29.8. Saskia Heydenrych took 24th with a time of 20:34.7. Sophie Chasteen and Claire Walker were the last two Warriors to finish in the Twilight at John Hunt. Chasteen took 59th place with a time of 22:33.5. Walker finished in 63rd place with a time of 22:55.9.
What's Next
The Warriors will travel to Charlotte, NC on October 9 to take part in the Royals XC Challenge. They will then wrap up the regular season on October 17 as they travel to Spartanburg, SC to compete in the Upstate XC Invite. On November 7, the Warriors will run in the Conference Carolinas Championship.
