Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan Women's Soccer and Head Coach Al Meneses are excited to announce the next signee in the 2026 signing class.  The Warriors will welcome Peyton Hughes this upcoming fall season.

Peyton Hughes will join the Warriors via Long Island, New York.  A native of Selden, Hughes attended Newfield High School.  She competed for both Newfield and the Atlantic United SC G08 Aspire soccer programs as a midfielder and a defender. 

When asked about her favorite Bible verse, Hughes responded with Psalms 46:5 which reads "God is within her, she will not fail."  She loves pasta and her favorite movie is The Notebook.

"We are very happy to add Peyton Hughes to our 2026 recruiting class!" commented Coach Meneses.  "She comes from a very good club in Long Island, NY and from a great coaching and playing environment.  Peyton will add great value and depth to our defensive and midfield lines.  She is good on the ball, makes good tackles, and is a good passer.  I'm excited to work with Peyton for the next years to come; she's a great addition to our Warrior family."
