Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan Women's Soccer and Head Coach Al Meneses are excited to announce the next signee in the 2026 signing class.  The Warriors will welcome their second international signee of the 2026 class in Ella Åkerberg. 

Ella Åkerberg will join the Warriors from Västerås, Sweden.  Åkerberg competed as a midfielder for both Widenska Sports High School and Gideonsbergs IF. 

A lover of tacos, Åkerberg's favorite movie is Beck.  When asked what her favorite quote was she says, "you'll never walk alone."

"We are excited to add Ella to our 2026 recruiting class!" commented Head Coach Al Meneses.  "She will bring great value and depth to our midfield positions as a very good passer of the ball, which suits our style very well.  She comes from a good soccer background and has played for some high-level competitive teams.  We are excited to add a third player from Europe to our group and I'm looking forward to working with her for the next years to come!"
