Anderson, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Anderson Trojans in a 21-3 final score on Tuesday evening.
The Warriors had three hits in the loss to the Trojans. Beau Berge picked up the lone multi base hit of the game with a double. Southern Wesleyan walked four times and four Warriors were hit by pitches. Tristan Tillman stole two bases and Ethan Shimmel had one stolen base.
Lukas Arvantides started the game on the mound and pitched 2.1 innings while striking out two batters. Five Warriors came in to pitch in relief. Cayden Towell and Will Koehler also struck out batters.

How It Happened
The Warriors were first on the board as they brought a run in to score in the top of the first inning. Tristan Tillman led off the inning by reaching on a walk. Tillman then stole second to get into scoring position. As Ethan Shimmel collected a walk, Tillman took off on ball four to steal third base. Shimmel followed and stole second to put two runners in scoring position and bring Josh Long up to bat. Long ground out to the Trojans shortstop, but Tillman was able to come in to score the first run of the game.
Anderson surged ahead as they brought nine runs in to score in the bottom of the third inning. They continued their attacks on the plate in the bottom of the fourth and sixth innings as they brought twelve more runs in to score to take a 21-1 run lead over the Warriors.
Southern Wesleyan brought in a couple more runs in to score in the bottom of the seventh inning. Grant Harrison and Ethan Jarvis were each hit by pitches. A wild pitch allowed both of them to get into scoring position. Chance Kennedy hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring Harrison in to score. Cotes Reid walk to put runners on the corners and bring Beau Berge up to bat. Berge hit a double into left center field to bring Jarvis in to score. However, the Warriors fell to the Trojans in a 21-3 final score.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return to Dr. C Keith Connor Field on February 27-28 as they host the UNC Pembroke Braves. They will then travel to Mars Hill, NC to take on the Mars Hill Lions on March 3. On March 6-7, the Warriors will travel down the road to Due West, SC to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet.
