• His brother, Colby, played baseball at Barton from 2018-2020
• His brother, Owen, played baseball at Lancaster Bible College from 2021-25 and then at Cedarville from 2025-26
• Majoring in computer information systems with a concentration in business information

What are your goals for the upcoming season? Conference Champions

Why did you choose SWU? I loved the "small campus: structure and that I would have the opportunity to grow in my faith.  In addition to that, the coaching staff is the perfect fit for my athletic goals as well as my personal goals.

What is your favorite thing about SWU? My teammates.  Having the support system from the guys is definitely not something to overlook.

Why is your sport important to you? Baseball has taught me many skills that will translate well into life such as discipline, resiliency and how to work within a team to achieve a common goal.

Who is your greatest influence in life? Why? My parents.  They both showed me from a young age the value of hard work and to stay humble through it all.

Where do you want to be in five years? Starting my career as a data analyst and continuing to stay involved in baseball through coaching.

Do you have a nickname? What is it and how did you get it? Shimmy.  It comes from a shortened version of my name, Shimmel
