Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan claimed several top ten finishes along with accumulated some personal bests as the Warriors hosted the Gotta Run Invite.

100mh | In the 100 meter hurdles, Ella Harned took seventh with a time of 18.25.
100m | The Warriors were led by Makayla Wilson in the 100 meters as she took second with a time of 12.83. Wilson was followed by Cianna Laginestra who took seventh place with a time of 13.10.
200m | Makayla Wilson finished in 10th in the 200 meters with a time of 27.36. She was followed by Cianna Laginestra in 15th with a time of 28.46.
800m | Kristi Gallagher and Claire Walker both finished in the top ten in the 800 meters. Gallagher took fourth with a time of 2:30.66 and Walker finished in seventh with a time of 2:38.85. Kylie Gallagher was the next Warrior to finish as she took 14th with a time of 2:49.03.
1500m | Merritt Smith led the Warriors in the 1500 meters as she took third with a time of 5:03.28. She was followed by Ellie Adams in fifth with a time of 5:09.96. Freda Ruiz and Elise Foster were the next two Warriors to finish. Ruiz took ninth with a time of 5:20.02 and Foster finished in 13th with a time of 5:26.50. Anna Maddalena took 16th with a time of 5:31.65.
3000m Steeplechase | Freshman Elise Foster led the whole field in the steeplechase as she took first with a time of 12:48.01.
5000m | Ellie Adams led the Warriors in the 5000 meters as her time of 19:17.87 allowed her to finish in sixth place. Behind her, senior Merritt Smith took ninth with a time of 19:41.65. Freda Ruiz was the next Warrior to finish as she took 12th with a time of 20:04.87. Anna Maddalena wrapped up the field for the Warriors as she took 12th with a time of 21:03.21.
4x400 Meter Relay | The Warriors team of Kristi Gallagher, Kylie Gallagher, Freda Ruiz and Claire Walker took second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:34.71. They were followed by the Warriors team of Merritt Smith, Anna Maddalena, Elise Foster and Ellie Adams in third with a time of 4:37.58.

Hamer | In the hammer throw, Alexandria Luther took third place after her throw of 39.66 meters.
Discus | Alexandria Luther took eighth in the discus with her throw of 27.58 meters.
Shot Put | The Warriors were led by Alexandria Luther in the shot put as her throw of 10.37 meters allowed her to take fourth. She was followed by Ella Harned who threw 9.76 meters to put her in ninth.
Javelin | Alexandria Luther took sixth place in the javelin with her throw of 32.62 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel to Montreat, NC on March 20-21 to compete in the Montreat College Open. They will then travel to Atlanta, GA to compete in the Thrills in the Hills hosted by Emory University on March 27-28.
