Greenville, SC – In the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Preseason Poll, Emmanuel University was picked first with 215 points.
2024 Conference Carolinas Southwest Division champion, Emmanuel received nine first place votes and 215 points to sit atop the 2025 preseason poll. The Lions won the tournament title in 2023 and are followed by Francis Marion University who received three first place votes and 192 points. 2024 tournament champion and co-northwest division champion, Converse University is picked third with 190 points and three first place votes.
East division champion, University of Mount Olive is picked fourth with 186 points while North Greenville University rounds out the top five with 177 points. UNC Pembroke wasn't far behind as the Braves earned the final first place vote and 175 points to claim the sixth spot.
Shorter University is picked seventh with 136 points, followed by King University's 117 points at eighth. Southern Wesleyan University comes in at ninth with 105 points while Young Harris College rounds out the top 10 with 94 points.
Belmont Abbey College (81), Barton College (76), Lees-McRae College (69), Chowan University (48), Erskine College (36), and Ferrum College (23) round out the poll.
The Warriors wrapped up the 2024 season with an overall record of 11-15 and were 7-11 in Conference Carolinas action, advancing to post season for the time in several seasons. Returning for the Warriors is Karson Haley who is coming off a stellar freshman season where she led the team in kills with 199. She will be joined by fellow leaders in kills, Michaela Andress (165) and Megan Gilliland (140). Katie Fulton will look to continue her success as a setter after she led the team with 400 assists last season. She will be joined by fellow setter Amiyah Spann (325 assists). Southern Wesleyan brings in eight new faces including three transfers and five freshman for the 2025 campaign.
Southern Wesleyan will open up the 2025 season on September 9 as they travel down to Livingston, AL to take part in a tri-match with West Alabama and Miles College. They will host both their home and Conference Carolinas opener on September 16 as they welcome the Shorter Hawks to Historic Tysinger Gymnasium for a 6pm serve.
The 2025 Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship is scheduled to start with preliminary rounds on November 15 or 16 before the quarterfinals, semifinals and final will be competed at the Student Center Complex on the campus of King University in Bristol, Tennessee on November 21-23.
The preseason poll was voted on by the league's head coaches and they can't vote for their own school.
