Steves Receives All-Conference Honors

Greenville, SC – Conference Carolinas announced the Women's Lacrosse Major Award Winners and All-Conference teams on Wednesday afternoon.  The Warriors were honored as junior Fianna Steves was among those recognized on the All-Conference teams.

After starting in 14 of the 15 games she played in during her junior season with the Warriors, Steves received All-Conference Second Team honors.  She led the team in draw controls with 54.  The native of Mrytle Beach, SC also led the team in ground balls (81) and caused turnovers (48).  She led the whole conference in ground balls per game with five and was second in the conference in caused turnovers per game with 2.93.  In one of her final games of the season, Steves surpassed 100 career caused turnovers.  She picked up a season high 11 ground balls in the victory over Truett-McConnell on March 11.

Offensively, Steves scored seven goals and had two assists for nine total points.  She posted a 92% shot on goal percentage.  Two of her goals were scored off of free position shots.  Steves scored a season high two goals in the season opening victory over the Emory & Henry Wasps.
