How It Happened

Young Harris struck first as they brought three runs in to score in the top of the second inning.

Southern Wesleyan countered in the bottom of the second inning.  On the third pitch of his at bat, Jarrett Whitley drilled the ball over the center field wall for his seventh home run of the season.

The Mountain Lions put up more runs in the top of the fourth and fifth innings to extend their lead to 7-1.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Warriors challenged back.  With one out, Jason Culley hit a single up the middle.  An error by the shortstop allowed Clay Porter to take first and put Culley on second.  Travis Hammond hit a sacrifice fly for the second out of the inning to allow Culley to tag up and advance to third.  However, on throw back in from the outfield, Culley caught the Mountain Lions defense sleeping and took home to put the Warriors down 7-2.

Young Harris pushed on with runs in the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth innings to win the game in a 17-2 final score.
