3000m Steeplechase: Drew Jones led the Warriors in the steeplechase. Jones claimed second place with a time of 9:55.65. He was followed by Brooks Hovis who took fourth with a time of 10:50.99.
5000m: In the 5000 meters, sophomore Grayson Gillespie took third place with a time of 16:34.54. Malcolm Kibiwot took fifth with a time of 16:44.28.
1500m: Ronan O'Neill led the Warriors in the 1500 meters as he took fourth with a time of 4:01.74. O'Neill was followed by Grady Clark who took sixth with a time of 4:05.73. Finishing in 16th was Landon Mayfield. Mayfield finished with a time of 4:38.77.
400m: The Warriors were led by Ethan Marchman in the 400 meters. Marchman took fifth with a time of 49.42. Aziah Gaskin and Jaden Warner were the next two Warriors to finish. Gaskin took 16th with a time of 51.44 and Warner took 19th with a time of 52.19. Josiah Pitts took 25th with a time of 55.18.
100m: Jaden Warner took 15th with a time of 11.29. Solomon Pitts followed with a time of 11.52 to take 24th. Pitts was followed by Dominic Gonzalez who took 29th with a time of 11.64. Bertin Manzi wrapped up the field for the Warriors as he took 34th with a time of 12.47.
800m: Drew Jones led the whole field in the 800 meters as he claimed first with a time of 1:57.13. Jones was followed by Nate Hill in fourth with a time of 1:58.58. Ronan O'Neill took eighth with a time of 2:02.53. Thomas Macagg and Josue Avendano were the next two Warriors to finish. Macagg took 14th with a time of 2:05.79 and Avendano finished in 19th with a time of 2:10.86.
400m Hurdles: In the 400 meter hurdles, Eli Powell finished in 11th with a time of 1:02.46.
200m: Dominic Gonzalez took 27th with a time of 23.84.
3000m: Southern Wesleyan was led by Thomas Macagg in the 3000 meters as his time of 9:22.33 allowed him to take third place.
4x400 Meter Relay: The Warriors had three teams compete in the 4x400 meter relay. Their team of Jaden Warner, Nate Hill, Grady Clark, and Ethan Marchman took fourth with a time of 3:22.20. Taking eighth was Southern Wesleyan's team of Drew Jones, JT Locke, Landon Mayfield and Thomas Macagg who finished with a time of 3:46.72. The relay team of Brooks Hovis, Ronan O'Neill, Grayson Gillespie and Malcolm Kibiwot took ninth with a time of 3:52.65.
Field Results
Long Jump: In the long jump, Sam Woods took ninth with a jump of 6.12m.
Javelin: Evan Motes led the Warriors in the javelin as he took second place with a throw of 48.92m. He was followed by Braden Shoemaker in fourth with a throw of 45.05m. Mason Griffiths finished in 16th after his throw of 32.38m.
Discus: Mason Griffiths finished in eighth in the discus after his throw of 38.73 meters. Griffiths was followed by Braden Shoemaker who took 31st with a throw of 26.76 meters.
Pole Vault: In the pole vault, Evan Motes took sixth after vaulting a height of 4.05m.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will travel Ronan O'Neill and Brooks Hovis to the Lee Fast Break on April 5. They will then travel to Anderson, SC on April 12-13 to take part in the Electric City Invite. The Warriors will take part in the Western Carolina Invitational on April 19-20.
