Winston-Salem, NC – Southern Wesleyan put up a strong showing at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-off on Saturday.

Track Events
60m Prelims One: In the first 60m preliminaries, Cianna Laginestra led the team as she took 18th with a time of 8.43. She was followed by Alyse Davis in 19th with a time of 8.47.
60m Prelims Two: Makayla Wilson led the Warriors in the second round of the 60m preliminaries. Wilson took 24th with a time of 8.00. Sarah Richardson was the next Warrior to finish as she took 30th with a time of 8.15.
60mh: TraVon Lay took 17th with a time of 9.57.
200m: In the 200 meters, sophomore Cianna Laginestra finished in 28th with a time of 28.28.
600m: Nicole Feagan finished in 22nd place with a time of 2:11.98.
Mile: Southern Wesleyan was led in the mile by Kristi Gallegher as she finished in 5:55.55.
3000m: Junior Merritt Smith led the Warriors in the 3000 meters. Smith's time of 11:05.64 allowed her to take 29th. Macey Morgan was the next Warrior to finish as she took 41st with a time of 11:41.45. Divinity Ervin wrapped up the field for Southern Wesleyan as her time of 11:55.57 was not only a PR, but allowed her to finish in 43rd.
4x400 Meter Relay: Southern Wesleyan's team of Alyse Davis, Makayla Wilson, Ava LaBrant and TraVon Lay took 13th with a time of 4:20.69.
Field Events
Pole Vault: Senior Ava LaBrant took second in the pole vault on Saturday as she cleared a height of 3.05 meters.
Shot Put: In the shot put, Alexandria Luther took 27th with a time of 9.50 meters.
Weight Throw: Gracie Wilson took 23rd in the weight throw as she threw a distance of 10.76 meters. Wilson was followed by Alexandria Luther who took 24th with a throw of 10.34 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will break for the Holiday season before returning to the court on January 10-11 as they compete in Nashville, TN at the Commodore Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt. They will then travel to Winston-Salem, NC to take part in the Mondo College Invitational.
