Charlotte, NC – Southern Wesleyan finished in sixth in the Women's 5K Blue race in the Royals XC Challenge.

How It Happened

The Warriors were led by junior Merritt Smith in the 5K as her time of 20:07.23 allowed her to secure 20^th.  Right behind her was senior Macey Morgan.  Morgan took 27^th as she finished with a time of 20:20.21.  Kristi Gallagher and Ava LaBrant were the next two Warriors to finish in the race.  Gallagher took 42^nd with 20:52.10 and LaBrant took 44nd with a time of 20:55.14. 

Coming in 48^th in the race was sophomore Divinity Ervin as she finished with a time of 21:03.27.  She was followed by Janey Dixon who took 76th with a time of 22:02.97.  Elena Juarez and Freda Ruiz wrapped up the field for the Warriors.  Juarez finished in 102^nd with a time of 23:19.53 and Ruiz took 130th with a time of 25:53.32.

Southern Wesleyan will next compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship on October 26.
