Charlotte, NC – Southern Wesleyan finished in 15th in the Men's 8K Gold race in the Royals XC Challenge. Ronan O'Neill continued his streak of breaking the school record as he reset it for the third time this season.

How It Happened
Ronan O'Neill claimed eighth place in the Royals XC Challenge on Friday evening as he finished with a time of 24:15.16. His time broke the previous school record by thirty seconds. Southern Wesleyan's next finisher was junior Drew Jones. Jones claimed 100th as he finished with a time of 26:15.90. Right behind him, Grady Clark took 123rd with a time of 26:49.49. Freshman Caleb Richardson took 125th as he finished right on the heels of Clark with a time of 26:49.59.
The Warriors next finisher in the 8K was Landon Mayfield. Mayfield took 159th with a time of 27:42.54. Braydon Lane followed him as his time of 28:06.90 allowed him to take 169th. Andrew Davis and Nate Hill were the next two Warrior runners to finish. Davis secured 180th with a time of 28:45.59 and Hill took 184th with a time of 28:58.63.
John Locke finished in 187th with a time of 29:07.33. Seconds behind him, senior Josue Avendano took 188th with a time of 29:13.84. In his cross country debut this season, Dustyn Scruggs finished in 190th with a time of 30:27.90. Thomas Macagg wrapped up the field for the Warriors as he took 191st with a time of 30:35.98.
