Winston Salem, NC - After the mile record was just broken by Grady Clark last week, Drew Jones set and broke the record with a time of 4:24.09 at the Camel City Invite this weekend. His was not the only record that would fall for the Warriors, as sophomore Ronan O'Neill broke the record in the 3000 meters.

60m: Freshman Dominic Gonzalez finished 44th after running a time of 7.40 and Aziah Gaskin finished 46th after running a time of 7.42.
200m (Seeded): In the seeded 200m Jaden Warner finished 11th after running a time of 23.20.
200m: In the open 200, Dominic Gonzalez finished 40th after running a time of 24.14. Right behind him, Aziah Gaskin finished with a time of 24.49 in 50th place.
400m (Seeded): In the seeded 400m, sophomore Jaden Warner finished 16th with a time of 52.89.
400m: Elijah Powell finished 37th with a time of 56.23 in the open 400 meters.
600m: Josue Avendano led the Warriors in the 600 meters as he finished 18th with a time of 1:35.57. Avendano was followed by Elijah Powell who finished 20th with a time of 1:38.27.
800m: Grady Clark finished 6th in the 800 meters after a time of 2:00.04. Ethan Marchman finished closely behind Clark as he took 9th after running a time of 2:00.98. Josue Avendano and John Locke were the next two Warriors to finish. Avendano finished 42nd after running a time of 2:13.79 and Locke finished 48th after running a time of 2:19.16.
3000m: Ronan O'Neill broke the school record in the 3000 meters. O'Neill finished in 13th after running a time of 8:33.65. Thomas Macagg finished 62nd after running a time of 9:21.98.
Mile: Drew Jones set the new school record in the mile as he finished 16th with a time of 4:24.09. Grayson Gillespie finished 65th after running a time of 4:56.22.
Field Results
Long Jump: Sam Woods finished 38th with a jump of 5.96m (19-06.75 feet) and Valante Walker finished 47th with a jump of 5.51m (18-01.00 feet)
Pole Vault: Senior Evan Motes finished 14th after clearing a height of 4.10 meters (13-05.25 feet).
Shot Put: Mason Griffiths threw a distance of 9.06m (29-08.75 feet) in the shot put to put him in 44th.
Triple Jump: In the triple jump, Valante Walker finished 17th after a jump of 12.92 meters (42-04.75 feet)
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return to Winson-Salem, NC and the JDL Fast Track on February 8 as they take part in the JDL Team Challenge. They will then travel back to Winston-Salem, NC on February 18-19 to compete at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championship
