Lexington, VA - Southern Wesleyan claimed first place finishes in the Women's 60 Meter Dash, the Men's 5000 Meters and the Men's Distance Medley Relay on Saturday. Sophomore
Makayla Wilson claimed first place overall in the 60 meter dash after running a 2024 season best time of 7.85 in the finals.
Ronan O'Neill was the other Warrior to claim first place honors as he took first in the Men's 5000 Meters. The Men's Distance Medley Relay Team not only set the new school record, but went on to claim first place honors.

Women's 60 Meter Dash:
Makayla Wilson ran a time of 7.97 in the preliminaries of the 60 meter dash to take sixth and advance to the finals. In the finals, Wilson went on to finish first overall as she posted a new season best time of 7.85.
Women's 60 Meter Hurdles: Junior
Kayla Lema ran a new season best of 9.89 to finish in 10th place. Behind Lema,
TraVon Lay claimed 11th with a time of 10.14.
Women's 400 Meters: The Warriors went ninth, tenth and eleventh in the 400 meters. Kyla Johnson claimed 9th with a time of 1:02.85, TraVon Lay was in 10th iwth a time of 1:03.62 and Lauryn Tate finished in 11th with a time of 1:03.63.
Men's 400 Meters: Jaden Warner finished in sixth place after running a time of 52.23.
Men's 600 Meters: In the men's 600 meters, sophomore Ethan Marchman finished in fifth for the Warriors after running a time of 1:23.86.
Women's Mile: Freshman
Evelyn Gordon took ninth place in the Women's Mile as she finished with a time of 5:30.30.
Men's Mile:
Grady Clark broke the school record he had set last week as he hit a new PR with a time of 4:24.51 to finish in fourth place for the Warriors.
Men's 3000 Meters: In his debut with the Warriors,
Malcolm Kibiwot opened up his season with a time of 9:50.35 to take 17th place. Behind him,
Landon Mayfield finished in 18th with a time of 10:03.21
Women's 5000 Meters: Abbey Frock and Merritt Smith finished in the top 10 of the Women's 5000 Meters. Frock finished in 5th with a time of 19:30.44 and Smith claimed 7th with a time of 19:58.41.
Men's 5000 Meters: Ronan O'Neill led the whole field in the Men's 5000 Meters to take first after running a time of 15:00.70. Drew Jones followed closely behind him to take 3rd with a time of 15:26.34. His time allowed him to hit a new PR. In 13th, Thomas Macagg ran a time of 16:26.27. Grayson Gillespie finished with a new PR of 17:03.43 for 18th. Malcolm Kibiwot and Landon Mayfield were the new two Warriors to finished. Kibiwot finished 19th with a time of 17:04.94 and Mayfield hit a new PR as he finished in 20th with a time of 17:06.98.
Women's 4x400 Meter Relay: The team of
Kyla Johnson,
Makayla Wilson,
Lauryn Tate, and
TraVon Lay finished in 4th place with a time of 4:15.56.
Women's Distance Medley:
Ava LaBrant,
Evelyn Gordon,
Abbey Frock and
Merritt Smith finished in 7th place in the Women's Distance Medley with a time of 13:40.52.
Men's Distance Medley: The Men's Distance Medley team of
Grady Clark,
Jaden Warner,
Ethan Marchman and
Drew Jones broke the school record on Saturday as they took first place with a time of 10:40.41.
Field Events
Women's Long Jump:
Makayla Wilson finished sixth in the long jump on Saturday. Her distance of 4.97 meters not only allowed her to take sixth, but was a personal record for her as an individual.
Women's Pole Vault:
Ava LaBrant hit a PR in the pole vault as she finished in fifth with a vault of 3.06 meters.
Men's Pole Vault: In the Men's Pole Vault, Senior
Evan Motes finished in fifth place after he vaulted a season best height of 4.21 meters.
Women's Shot Put: In 17th place,
Alexandria Luther had a throw of 8.70 meters. Luther was followed by
Gracie Wilson in 18th place with a throw of 8.62 meters.
Women's Weight Throw: With a new PRs for both throwers,
Alexandria Luther finished in 12th with a throw of 10.16 meters and
Gracie Wilson took 15th with a throw of 9.22 meters.

Southern Wesleyan will travel to Winston-Salem, NC on January 26-27 to compete in the Camel City Invitational.
