Joplin, MO – Southern Wesleyan's own Ronan O'Neill finished in the top half of the field at the NCAA National Championship on Saturday afternoon.
O'Neill became the first ever Warrior to participate in the NCAA National Championship after claiming Conference Carolinas Runner of the Year honors at the Conference Carolinas Championship on October 21. He went on to finish in 11th at the NCAA Southeast Regional to qualify for the National Championship.
The sophomore out of Pendleton, SC finished in 124th place in the 263-runner field on Saturday morning. In the national stage race, O'Neill crossed the finish line with a time of 31:26.8.
O'Neill was the second consecutive Conference Carolinas men's cross country student-athlete to compete at nationals after Joshua Chepkesir of UNC Pembroke competed in 2022.
